Erie YouTube of the Week: Rolling Rescue

Rolling Rescue is an organization that helps pets find homes, anywhere across the country. Truck drivers around the country use a Yahoo! group to share information about pets at shelters around the country who need homes, and will help transport those animals to loving homes. Here’s a bit from their website:

On any given day, thousands of companion animals die in shelters for a lack of homes or rescues in their local area. It may be somewhere across one state, several states or across the country, there is a rescue or someone who could provide the perfect home, but have no way of getting it to them.

Recently, one of the group members brought Frazier, a brittney spaniel, from a shelter in Idaho to a new home in Erie.

Very cool.

I’ve never known a trucker who wasn’t an awesome guy (and I know many). What a great idea :)

Wow, God Bless all those involved in this program. We adopted a dog from Wichita,Kansas Humane Society and brought her across the country to Erie. She is the apple of my eye right now. Thanks for sharing the video and story.
