Cool off with a cone

I think it’s safe to say it’s finally summer in Erie. It’s hot and muggy and really, nothing takes the edge off like some ice cream. Here are five three choices to get you cooled off.

Connie’s
Connie’s has some of the best handmade ice cream I’ve ever had. They moved from their Upper Peach location, which was probably a smart idea. It was hard to park and get in and out of, but the ice cream was well worth it. Map

Sara’s
Grab a famous orange-vanilla twist cone at Sara’s at the entrance of Presque Isle, then enjoy it as you slowly make your way around the beach. Talk about a relaxing evening. Here are some Sara’s coupons to get you started. Map

Hank’s Frozen Custard
If you’re from or travelling through the Meadville/Conneaut Lake area, you can’t go wrong with a stop at Hank’s. Hank’s doesn’t serve ice cream, per se, instead they serve very good frozen custard. It’s richer and more dense then ice cream, and they feature a special flavor each day. Map
