Brotka. He was a teammate and friend of my son, Jeff, for many years in Erie Youth Hockey and they were rivals in high school hockey Prep vs. McDowell. We saw Chris play at Mercyhurst. He is one of many on the same Erie youth hockey team who went on to enlist and serve in the military-Christopher Wurst graduated from West Point and was wounded in the Middle East, Joshua Gehrlein was in the Air Force as my son Jeff still us [10 years and is currently a TechSargent deployed to Southwest Asia.] Perhaps this is a human interest story,eh? anyway, i digress. thanks again.

They might not make any money that night but it's a great way to get people to visit for the first time. Both the Brewerie and their Trackside Beer Garden are great places. The food is good and the prices are reasonable.

Yes. See the BBC News story <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7454578.stm" rel="nofollow"> Divers find 1780 British warship</a>.

And I almost forgot, the Brits appear equally interested in the discovery of the HMS Ontario. When I obtained a copy of the PA Smoking Ban legislation I also requested a copy of the proposed compact that is currently before the PA legislature limiting water exports. Currently PA, OH, and MI are the only great lake states (or province) that have not yet ratified it. When I get a chance I'd like to post a blog entry discussing it since Lake Erie is such a center piece of our lives.
It is really interesting because since it involves an agreement among multiple U.S. states and also because it involves agreement with Canada, the "compact" will need U.S. Congress approval. I also assume the Canadian Federal government will need to o.k. it as well.

Dennis, interesting piece about Erie Water Works and the Great Lakes Drainage Basin.

When I obtained a copy of the PA Smoking Ban legislation I also requested a copy of the proposed compact that is currently before the PA legislature limiting water exports.
