One thing I miss about Jack Tirak’s blog is the “Shouts” posts he’d do, leaving a blog post open all week for comments. The discussion was all over the place, and it really spurred conversation.
As an experiment, I’m going to leave this post open for comments all week. If there’s something you’d like to talk about, question, compliment and so on, you can do it here.

I,too, miss the “Shouts” post from the late Jack Tirak. I hope you get feedback from this idea and it becomes a permanent part of this site. Thanks.
The question is, will our comments be put through?
Yes, they will be put through.
I Miss the shouts almost as much as I miss Jack. Anyone hear of any plans of a new blogger taking over EMGR?
I haven’t heard anything about someone taking over. I don’t think anyone will have the knowledge and experience Jack had, so it won’t be the same, but there’s still a lot to talk about in regards to Erie media.
Speaking of EMGR, I got a chuckle when I saw his FCC mandate clock is still counting. I miss Jack, and his website too, and I never even met him in person.
Having spent 23 years of my life in radio, I always love to keep in touch with the business, and Jack’s blog was a nice look at local media.
I really hope, like many of you, the media blog continues…
You are right EBMike, they would be hard pressed to find someone with the knowledge and the contacts to carry on the format. Also, I think it would be easy for it to turn into a smutty gossip blog without the proper moderation. Jack always was careful to keep it classy.
Just wanted to pass along my sincerest gratitude for your mentioning my blog about EYHA, high school and college players. My thoughts are often with those guys who have now been serving in the military. They were a great bunch of kids and I am sure they are equally fantastic adult men.
