This week’s Erie YouTube of the Week gives us a view of the Erie Art Museum’s exhibit of works by local artist Joseph Plavcan (1908–1981). Plavcan moved to Erie as a small child and, after studying in Europe, returned here in 1932 to teach at Erie Technical High School for nearly 40 years. The exhibit runs until September 14.
The audio in this clip is a bit rough—there’s a lot of background noise—but it’s nevertheless an interesting look at a local artist that many area residents (including me) might not be aware of.
