If you missed the Vice Presidential debate yesterday you can watch it here.
The English campaign is criticizing yesterday’s poll that was released, showing Kathy Dahlkemper ahead of Phil English. Adam Beebe of the English campaign stated the validity of the poll is in question since the poll was taken over a weekend that saw a high degree of political turmoil due to the financial crisis, and because the poll was conducted using an automated telephone survey. The Dahlkemper campaign took the poll to heart, emailing supporters yesterday, “we’ve got Phil English on the run and that we will win this race in November.” Yesterday, the Cook Political Report categorized the race as a “toss-up.” It was previously labeled as “leans Republican.”
The U.S. House of Representatives will consider another rescue package for Wallstreet today. Congressman Phil English voted down the previous incarnation of the bill on Monday. And if Monday is any indication, one of two things will happen today: the stock market will go way up or way down.

Applications are now available for the Department of Environmental Protection’s 2009 environmental education grants that will range from $3,000 to $20,000. The DEP will be holding two workshops designed to assist grant applicants, who will have an opportunity to prepare and submit a DEP environmental education grant pre-application during the workshop. One of those programs will be held in Erie at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center at Presque Isle on November 3rd. This is an excellent opportunity for teachers, school districts, nature conservancies, etc., so make plans to attend. More information on the DEP’s website.
