McDowell Intermediate High School teacher Mr. Robert Henninger’s Social Studies classes have made a working prairie schooner made with authentic rough sawn lumber, metal rimmed oak wheels from an Amish craftsman, canvas covered, filled with items the pioneers would have taken on the 6 month treacherous trip. Items such as an oak barrel, trunks, sacks of grain and flower, old pots, lanterns, and feather beds. The class will take this wagon up and down hills, across a stream on campus, simulating the Oregon Trail dressed in long dresses, bonnets, flannel shirts and appropriate western hats. They will stop and pan for gold, wash clothes with a washboard, sing around a campfire and saw wood with a two handled saw.

That, according to the NFL, is Bills country. Steely McBeam = stunned. H/T = Press and Tower.
