Your polling location might see new voting machines. Erie County purchased an additional 100 new touch-screen voting machines for various polling locations. Pennsylvanians in the opposite corner of the state filed a Federal lawsuit in Philadelphia seeking to force polling locations to have paper ballots on hand in case 50% or more electronic voting machines fail at a single location. Currently only if every voting machine breaks down at a polling site are paper ballots allowed to be used.
Remember last week when Erie City Council for some unknown reason decided to turn down a quarter million dollars to renevate State Street, and many of us thought they would turn around this week and fix that mistake? Nope. Rubye Jenkins-Husband is the leading dissenter voting to delay the decision to apply for the money. We would suggest scrapping the Parade Street project just to spite her but we’re rational, thinking citizens. Message to Rubye: knock it off and apply for the money. You’ll have plenty of chances to play politics but now is not one of them. Message to Erie citizens: now might be a good time to contact your council member and voice your concern.

Was it Marine Bank that was bought out by PNC before PNC established itself in the Erie area?
Yep. Didn't National City buy out the old First National Bank when they came to the area?
National City bought Integra who bought PennBank who bought Security Peoples…I think I have that straight.
The old First National Bank was split into where half went to PNC and other half went to a Hermitage-based bank (I THINK it was First Hermitage Bank). The Hermitage bank renamed itself as First National Bank.
