Also, said company recieves a hefty portion of the funds.

I find it funny, after researching Paragon Promotions and local Firefighter Unions, that Paragon has done everything the state requires legally to operate their business. They have helped many communities tremendously over the years, but because they are not a Union, it is supposedly a scam. I highly suggest people look at things like registration dates with the state to solicit funds. You may be shocked to find out exactly when some of your local Unions registered, if at all. Especially since the Unions have been putting these publications out for "the last several years". Who do you think calls you at home? At your business? The Fire Chief? I, for one, certainly hope not! I hope they are checking equipment, Co-ordinating with other departments, and keeping those brave men and women ready to go!
Having been a skeptic myself, and researching extensively. I have found that a little common sense goes a long way. ASK. Ask if they are a Firefighter. If you are told yes, tell them you'll be happy to help as soon as you confirm that they are who they say. If they say no, thank them for their honesty and hear them out. They rae, after all, doing a job like everyone else. Except their job is to educate children about fire safety, thereby doing the community a service. Remember folks, The best way to help a Firefighter, is to keep him at the station.

You failed to mention that it is the Firefighters UNION that has hired an out of state fund raising company (which by the way is not registered in PA) to solicit funds on behalf of the Union. Verizon has the Bona Fide Retail Request Program to deal with the PA law to get broadband in rural areas. You can sign up online.

https://www22.verizon.com/foryourhome/bfrr/

For those rural folks looking for broadband, here is a link that might help. They should coordinate the time that picture was taken to cell phone records in that time period for a particular cell tower. If the police can't catch this dude they have issues.

That robber is using a cell phone. Ugh!

Correction, the Bills are 6-7 (not 6-6) after losing 6 of their last 7. Ugh!
