Steeler Fans: Make Alternate Plans For Sunday

Pittsburgh Steelers LogoBad news Steeler fans. It looks like you won’t be able to watch tomorrow’s matchup between two AFC powerhouses, due to NFL rules. According to them, Erie is a Buffalo football market since they’re technically the closest to us. In a not-terribly scientific poll we did back in September, voters picked the Steelers as their favorite team.

While we were hoping, according to their 2008 football guide, that WSEE would carry the game, looking at their homepage it looks they’ll only show the hapless Bills (no offense, Bills fans) against the hot and cold Denver Broncos.

So, what can you, the fan, do?

If the weather’s nice, we’d recommend checking out the The Movies at Meadville. For $10, you get to watch the game in a movie theatre on the big screen and big sound. You also get all you can eat popcorn and soda, as well as a hot dog at the half.

You can also watch the game at many local watering holes and sports bars, who probably love days when the Bills blackout other games.

I'm a Browns fan (hangs head in shame), I was so pumped to watch the Steelers game tomorrow without having to go to a bar. Oh well.

??? but the bills play at 4 and the steelers at 1…. explain THIS to me…

  3. TC says:

Fox is showing 2 games today, CBS 1, next week CBS will show 2 games, and fox will show 1. I believe that's the way it works.

What's this NFL rule? Every time there's a marque game that involves the Steelers they block it in Erie? What a joke.

Buffalo plays at 4pm and Cleveland/Cinnci game is meaningless so let's not air a potential conference match up not to mention whoever wins today will most likely be the number 1 seed in the playoffs.
