This morning’s manhunt and area lockdown has ended, and police believe the suspect, Robert Daniels, 42, may have died inside one the houses he set on fire.
Most streets have reopened, but Blessed Sacrament school remains closed. WSEE is reporting that West Communications remains locked down as Daniels was recently fired from there and may remain locked down until they have complete proof that Daniels perished in one of the house fires.
We’ll have more on this in tomorrow’s news post.

From looking at the ErieCountyGov.org info, Daniel's house was either purchased 4 years ago and refinanced a year ago, or purchased by him a year ago after someone lived there for 4 years. Either way, he had a Survivorship Deed on the house, which I'm assuming means the woman inherits the property if she was named in the deed. Hopefully their insurance will cover it, not sure since it was arson though. Poor lady :(
The house next to theirs that was also destroyed was purchased 9 years ago – All in all a tragedy for everyone involved. I hope someone sets up a donation center for that family and for the woman involved too, even if it's anonymous.
I came into work around 8:30 AM yesterday morning in the building that houses the Whole Foods Cooperative on 26th & Brown's Avenue & locked the door behind me. The street was not blocked off but there were many police & fire vehicles visible. I stayed away from the windows after reading there was evidence of bullets shot into the building directly across the street from my front door. I know of 3 families that live in the area where the incident took place. Thinking of them & what could have gone horribly wrong in the situation & then reading of the blood shortage at the blood bank prompted me to head there directly after work & donate my very first pint. Thank God things did not go worse. My prayers go out to Mr. Daniel's family & friends & all of those in his neighborhood who are probably dealing with the psychological aftermath.
