One of the last things to migrate over to this new site and web host was the Job Board. A lot of people used the job board and a lot of local employers put new positions in all the time. Our goal is to make sure people in Erie have jobs and companies have a little easier time finding good candidates.
The original job board was something I hacked together in a few days a few years ago. It was cool for two reasons – I wanted to build a job board and second, I got to try out the CodeIgnitor PHP framework. For those of you who just glazed over, it’s a programming thing. The problem was I hadn’t done a good job of keeping up with CI updates or adding new features. So, we looked at other options.
So, today we launch our new job board. It’s awesome. For employers, posting a job for 30 days is only $5. You can’t beat that.
Well, actually, we can. For the rest of January, to celebrate the launch of the new job board, you can post jobs for free. Just use discount code EBJOBSFTW at checkout and your postings until February will be free.
Or course, it’s always free to browse jobs.

Maybe the seven people the Erie Times let go tonight, along with the nineteen a few weeks ago, can use this new board.
