Unfortunately, more bad news for the local economy today.
Lord Corporation has laid off 46 employees. The job losses were divided between their Erie and Cary, N.C. facilities.
The cuts were across the board. 31 of the positions were split between Erie and Cary and 15 are in a manufacturing facility in Kentucky.
The cuts were made last night and employees were notified this morning.
LORD originated in Erie more than 80 years ago. Operating from world headquarters in Cary, N.C., LORD has 17 manufacturing facilities in nine countries and 90 strategically located sales and support centers worldwide.
