Breaking News: Pittsburgh Steelers Win, Super Bowl Bound

Thanks to a very late Troy Polamalu interception return for a touchdown, the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Baltimore Ravens 23-14 to earn a trip to Super Bowl XLIII to face the Arizona Cardinals on February 1, 2009.

It was a nail-biter until about 4 minutes left in the fourth quarter, and with these two monster defenses, it was pretty much what was expected. The Steelers never trailed in the game, though Baltimore got to within 2 points in the fourth quarter.

images9Super Bowl XLIII (43) will be held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on February 1 at 6 p.m.  The Steelers won Super Bowl XL held in the city of Detroit in January 2006, beating the Seattle Seahawks.

With the way this Steeler defense is playing, we think they would have to be strong favorites to win their 6th NFL title. Since the team has “one for the thumb,” what would this one be? “Start on the other hand?” No team has won more then 5 Super Bowls. The Steelers, Cowboys and 49ers each have 5 wins.
