Are they kidding with that crap? The 1896 mistake is inexcusable.

Also, the featured "celebrities" bit is hilarious. Why even included them? I'm sure most people wouldn't even know who the hell any of them are (besides Alice from the Brady Bunch - ad that's just sad that she is one of Erie's featured "stars").

typical Erie - done half-assed. This should be destroyed before it gets out.

Who produces this junk anyway? Pop up video? That's like, 1997 or so! Embarrassing.

This video is complete garbage. What's with the terrible 1988 synthesizer “music”? Are they kidding with that crap? At first I thought they used the date of incorporation, but when I checked, the city was incorporated in 1851. I have no idea where the 1896 date came from. They need to use the 1795 date since Erie certainly existed prior to incorporation, and is shown on maps much prior ot that date.
I too noticed the lack of the Seawolves. That is regrettable.
Overall, I thought it was very well done and a great tool to get the word out about Erie.

The incorrect date of founding needs to be corrected ASAP and all distribution recalled until it is. Yup, Bucyrus lost the bid to Marion Shovel company. Two crawler transporters were built and are still in service. They were built to transport the Saturn 5 rocket and mobile launch pad to the site of the tower. Bucyrus and Marion eventually merged.

Here is a link to one of the crawlers on my flickr page.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/ed_kindle/31100031...

Bucyrus was also the company responsible for designing the crawler transporter for NASA – After it was designed, NASA realized that they were a government agency, and the project needed to out for bids. That mistake is sad.

The very first factoid on the Visit Erie video states that Erie was founded in 1896. The correct date was 1795.
