USF Holland has announced it is closing its terminal in North East. The terminal has an between 50 and 75 employees. The plant is expected to close sometime in June.
The Meadville Tribune has a story about Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper and her support for credit card reforms. She is a co-sponsor of HR 627, the Credit Cardholder’s Bill of Rights. In a press release, she says:
Especially during an economic recession, abusive practices like excessive credit card fees and soaring interest rates can be devastating for families across Western Pennsylvania. With consumer credit card debt approaching $1 trillion, we need to take immediate action to give cardholders more control over their credit limits. This legislation will help protect American consumers by eliminating some of the worst practices such as arbitrary rate hikes and incomprehensible agreements that can be revised at will.

A lightning strike in Atlanta knocked out the transmission of the Penguins playoff game last night on Fox Sports Pittsburgh. We were unhappy to miss most of the second period, and with the Pens losing 3-0, we were even more upset. Game 6 is Saturday in Philly.
The SeaWolves snapped a three-game losing skid with an 8-3 over the Harrisburg Senators on Thursday night at Jerry Uht Park.
Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Dontrelle Willis is scheduled to continue his rehab Sunday at Jerry Uht Park as the SeaWolves take on the Harrisburg Senators. The game starts at 1:05 p.m.
Grady Sizemore belted a tiebreaking three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Indians to a 5-2 victory over the Royals in Thursday afternoon’s series finale.
