We’re on the road

I’m on the road the rest of the week presenting at the WhippleHill conference in Boston, so we’ll be back next Monday with a daily post.

If you’d like to watch a panel discussion on social media, you can follow the live event on uStream at this mash-up site created by the conference to collect all the social media being generated by conference participants. It’s pretty neat.

Herein lies a challenge with this site – we’re down to one writer, me. I’ve got a full-time job, a national fellowship, conference talks (3 more this year), not to mention a family. I’m writing 7-8 posts a week, in addition to keeping all the other parts of the site running (blog browser, Twitter guide, our Twitter account, Facebook and more.) In the immortal words of my father-in-law: “I can’t do it anymore!”

If you’re interested in contributing to this site, either by helping to assemble the daily news or other kinds of posts during the week, please let me know. I can’t pay you (yet), but this site is about community and we’ve built a cool thing here. I don’t want to see it go away, but I can’t do it on my own anymore.

Thanks, and happy 4th. See you next week.

    Hi Mike,
I really like your blog and read it every day. I know the pressures of trying to keep one up. Mine is just occassional. Can't imagine having to write on every morning.
Hope someone comes in to help you keep this thing going. It would be a shame to have it end.
    What are your options?

I really hope someone picks this site up from you Mike. I read it at least 3 times a week. You do a fabulous job & I appreciate all of the work you have put into it. Especially since Rich had to bow out. Many blessing to you no matter what happens.

Could we get Dennis Weed to come back, maybe get him to tame his act down a little bit?

Maybe VisitErie could help a bit at least with links to our calendar of events or something like that. We could talk perhaps about tourism related posts. Get a hold of me to discuss further.

I am sorry to hear this might not last – I read it daily as it helps me stay informed now that I live in Florida. Better than GoErie.com.

I too would like to see Dennis come back and help with the writing.

I hate to see one more thing in Erie that is good, get lost.

    Hope you work it out.

  6. Hi Mike. Hope all is well. We need to talk about this. Please call me when you get back.

What about Danny Lucas ? He has lots of insights on how to run a blog.
