Erie Community Foundation Awards over $290,000 to community organizations

-1.jpgTo meet the mission of The Erie Community Foundation, each quarter the board reviews grant applications and distributes unrestricted dollars to meet the nonprofits’ needs. The Boys & Girls Club of Erie hosted the Erie Community Foundation’s 2009 Human Services and Community Development grant reception on July 14th. Representatives from the organizations receiving grants were in attendence. Included in the $290,836 awarded is $20,000 granted to Erie Weed & Seed for neighborhood mini-grants.

1. American Red Cross Disaster Preparedness Training for Children – $5,000

2. Dollar Energy Fund, Inc. Utility Assistance for Low Income Erie County Households – $10,000

3. Erie Independence House HVAC Replacement – $14,315

4. Erie United Methodist Alliance Agency garage renovations – $7,260

5. Maria House Project Residential Facility Renovations – $22,500

6. Mystic Mountain Training Center Respect, Responsibility, Riding Program – $5,000

7. Safe Harbor Behavioral Health Electronic Medical Record Upgrade – $14,715

8. Safe Horizons 4-Wheel Drive Vehicle Replacement – $11,500

9. Safe Net Sprinkler System upgrade – $20,000

10. St. Patrick Haven Client Storage Shed – $5,000

11. Therapeutic Riding of Erie County Equine Assisted Learning – $15,000

12. Union City Family Support Center Facility Renovations – $20,000

13. Urban Erie Community Development Corp. New Vehicle Purchase- $15,000

14. Bayfront East Side Taskforce First Ward Home Repairs – $15,000

15. Habitat for Humanity Tools and Safety Equipment for Home Construction – $3,820

16. International Institute of Erie International Community Garden – $8,850

17. Regional Center for Workforce Excellence Work Certified Training Project – $15,000

18. St. Martin’s Center, Inc. Kitchen Workforce Project – $9,000

19. Western Pennsylvania Conservancy East Avenue Community Garden – $3,332

20. Boys and Girls Club of Erie Pool Equipment Repair – $17,110

21. Flagship Niagara League “Bridge Gap” funding for Niagara Ship’s Crew – $24,000

22. Masonic Learning Center for Children Supervisor in Training – $6,000

23. United Neighborhood Facilities Health Care Corp. Computer Equipment — 3,434
