Edinboro University wheelchair basketball coach Jim Glatch, along with Fighting Scots Trey Jenifer and Tommie Gray, led the United States to the IWBF U23 World Championship on Tuesday in Paris, France. With Glatch serving as the head coach, the United States completed a perfect showing at the championships with a 77-54 win over Spain in the title game. It left the United States with a perfect 8-0 record.
Sad news from North East, where 25-year-old Laura Walsh didn’t stop at a stop sign was hit by a truck. She was life-flighted but didn’t make it. The story gets sadder – Walsh was pregnant.
The former Vallue City on 12th Street has been re-zoned to retail space, allowing some new development to take place in that area. That’s good news for that area, which has several empty stores.
The Board of Directors of CNB Financial Corporation announced today that William F. Falger has informed the Board of his intention to retire from the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of the company and CNB Bank at year end 2009. CNB is the parent company of ErieBank.
GE Transportation and the Egyptian National Railways (ENR) announced today that the 80th and final Evolution Series locomotive has been commissioned and was officially released to ENR at the end of June. The commissioning process prepares locomotives to be released for revenue service.
