Mornin’, peeps. It’s almost the end of July right, not early Spring. What’s up with the rain and cool temps.
Some quick housekeeping – I’ve spent more then a few hours over the last few days trying to improve the code that grabs local blog updates. It’s always run smoothly, but often forgets about blogs or leaves posts out. Obviously, that’s not what I want and I could never tell why it would drop posts or blogs at random. Part of me thinks that is just what happens when you try to poll over 100 websites twice an hour – stuff breaks, or feeds time out. In my testing over the last few days, I’m seeing posts and blogs show up that hadn’t for awhile, which is good. I’ll continue to keep an eye on it.
Mike Maciag has a story in the Erie Times-News today talking about how WQLN could possibly shut down if the channel is pulled from a London, Ontario cable system. That loss could lead to a reduction in donations from area residents, which was in the $150-200k range.
Dale Hannah has a breakdown of the recent Diamond Award winners – a new award presented by the Erie Regional Chamber to the groups largest contributors.
