Critical Blood Shortage Continues

If you’re able – please give blood this week.

The blood supply levels fell again this weekend deepening the critical shortage that affects the region. Community Blood Bank began giving every donor who tries to give blood at 26th and Peach Street a “Life Saver” T-shirt last week, but so there have been few takers. The shirt give-away will continue all this week (we started with 1,000).

“We are in the last month of struggling,” said Dan Desrochers, Director of Marketing at the Community Blood Bank. “This is when it’s hardest-as people try to get the last bit of fun out of summer, giving blood gets delayed and the blood supply drops with heavy usage. Please help someone by giving blood.”
