Erie to Host Pennsylvania Convention & Visitors Bureaus Conference

VisitErie and the City of Erie are hosts for the Pennsylvania Convention & Visitors Bureau (PACVB) regional fall conference September 19-23. The conference, taking place at the Bayfront Convention Center and Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel, is expected to attract 100-125 attendees. The last PACVB conference held in Erie was 1998.

PACVB was founded in 1972. It is the not-for-profit organization for the 49 officially designated tourist promotion agencies (TPAs) within Pennsylvania, representing 67 counties. The Association seeks to maximize the professionalism of its members and to communicate to the general public, governmental officials, and other appropriate audiences, the importance of the travel, tourism and hospitality industry to the Commonwealth’s economic wellness.

If you see some visitors around town the next few days, make them feel welcome.

The news reported that the e-mail that circulated regarding alleged robberies at the mall is widely false. There was just one call to the Millcreek Police that came after this e-mail started to circulate – they didn’t even want to file a report.
