Shortly after they held a rally at Union Station in support of bringing high-speed rail service to Erie County, members and supporters of All Aboard Erie got the word from PennDOT that Erie is now part of the plan for its future network of railroad lines. It was so sad to learn of the death of two year old Takiah Warren yesterday, who was found unresponsive at her home. This morning police are continuing the investigation into events leading up to her death. They have a “person of interest’ in custody, and the testimony of a 5 year old sister, who implicated the person in question. An autopsy performed Wednesday was inconclusive as to what caused her death. We hope the police investigators are able to solve this tragic case quickly. Our sympathy and prayers go out to Takiah’s family.

The newly renovated park is another step forward in the renewal of the area around Union Station, whose owner, Jim Berlin, got the ball rolling by turning the decrepit building into a showcase for the several businesses that have taken up residence there.
