The Old Is New Again

I was fortunate enough to be invited to an absolutely wonderful holiday party this past weekend.  As is usual with awesome parties, there were quite a few interesting people in attendance.

One of the attendees was Harry Miller and I got to chat with him briefly.  If you’re not familiar with his name, perhaps you’re familiar with some of his restaurants – Harry has quite the list on his résumé, including La Bella Bistro, Tapas, Aromas, Ceviche, and Lettuce Entice You.  Not to mention his catering business.  La Bella Bistro, incidentally, was my first favorite restaurant.

And now, Harry’s opening a new place.  Well, he’s actually reopening an old place that, until just over a year ago, had been an Erie staple for well over a half century, and he’s remaking it anew.

I’ll give you a minute to think about it and take a guess…

Give up?

Hector’s.

Yes, really.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get much time to talk to Harry about the details, as I was heading out when I ran into him in the kitchen of our hosts, so I don’t have a lot of details.  Harry’s still not sure about what he’s going to call the place, but he did say that he’s hoping to have the place up and running and open to the public by the middle of January.

I know I can’t wait to try the new old place.  Or is it the old new place?
