Is anyone else still trying to finish up Christmas shopping? In the quest to highlight local businesses, I decided to check out a relative newcomer to downtown Erie. Just west of State St. on Fifth, you will discover a delightful shop filled with decorative accents, jewelery, glassware, candles, and almost anything else that a last-minute shopper could hope for.
As I walked in the door at Accents by the Bay, I was greeted by the gracious owners, Judy Tucci and Barbara Corbett.
They explained that while they offer well-known brands, such as Vera Bradley, Crabtree & Evelyn, and others, the shop also seeks out distinctive items, each individually created, including lake-glass jewelry from the artisans at Relish, which add a touch of local flavor to your gift purchases.
Just imagine how much traffic and noise you would encounter while trying to get to the crowded stores at Millcreek Mall and the surrounding area, then think how nice it can be to shop in a peaceful, calm, environment.
We encourage everyone to patronize this locally owned business and others. Help make our own economy better, while finding items you will never find at the big box stores.
And please, tell Judy and Barbara you saw it on ErieBlogs!!
