College has its perks…I still have one more week of freedom while most of you were back to the grindstone yesterday. Woot woot.
The big news for today is all about swearing…in, that is.
Barry Grossman was sworn in as Erie County Executive yesterday and Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott began his second term. Joe Schember, Curtis Jones Jr., Jim Thompson, and Jim Winarski were sworn onto the Erie City Council, while Joe Giles, Whitey Cleaver, and the infamous Ebert Beeman were sworn in as Erie County Council members. Rick Figaski already addressed the Water Authority issue, a major part of his campaign platform, as he was sworn onto the Millcreek Township Board of Supervisors last evening. That’s all, folks.
Sports
Three Mercyhurst women’s hockey players will have the opportunity to suit up this weekend as part of the Canadian National Under-22 Team at the 2010 MLP Cup in Ravensburg, Germany. Juniors Vicki Bendus and Jesse Scanzano, and sophomore Bailey Bram will join 18 other players against the Switzerland team tonight. Updates on the teams progress can be found here.
In lieu of any other enticing news, here’s a video of a dog who hates snow. Good thing he’s not living in Erie.
Have a laugh and make it a great Tuesday.
