As of now, the US Government will reach the debt ceiling around August 2. After that, we won’t be able to pay our bills, our bond ratings will go bad, and the world will end, so they say. Meanwhile, Republicans and Democrats are not even close to agreeing on a solution to the problem. Their [...]

C Roy Hibbert (Indiana Pacers)
Essentials: Averaged a career-high 12.7 points in his third NBA season in 2010-11. Had 21 double-doubles after posting just 10 in 2009-10.
What else I like: Really worked hard to pick up his footwork to play at this level.
Weakness: Like Lopez, Hibbert is a 7-footer averaging less than 10 rebounds a game. It’s inexcusable for him, too..
Final word: Was key in Indiana making the playoffs last season. Is only going to get better.

After hoisting the boats at Isle Royale yesterday, we shook out the reefs in the tops’ls and spanker, set most of the ship’s sail area before screaming down Lake Superior, close hauled on a northwest breeze of 15-20 knots. The cold air that hovered in varying heights at times from 5 feet to 50 feet [...]
