About Us

ErieBlogs originally began with the idea to create a comprehensive list of bloggers who live in, or are from Erie, Pennsylvania. From a simple list found on the personal weblog of Mike Richwalsky, ErieBlogs has grown into a well regarded resource offering its readers news and events about Erie, job postings, and links to websites and topics of interest. Just as important, ErieBlogs continues to promote the thriving and ever expanding community of Erie bloggers. If you’re on Facebook you can join the ErieBlogs Facebook group, or follow us on Twitter.

To help you become familiar, here is an overview of what you can find on erieblogs.com.

Erie Bloggers Rule

One of the most incredible aspects of the internet is how it empowers individuals and communities. One of the main objectives of ErieBlogs is to promote the voices of bloggers who live in Erie or identify themselves with this great city. You will find on every page a list of Erie bloggers as well as the most recent “new posts” by these bloggers. In addition, many Erie bloggers also place a button on their blogs identifying them as Erie bloggers, and giving their readers a resource to find other Erie bloggers as well. If you would like your blog or website added to ErieBlogs, please contact us.

News & Events and Daily Blog Postings

As a means of keeping the blogging community informed, ErieBlogs posts a daily digest of what is going on in Erie as well as the region. Our goal is to provide material for bloggers (as well as the casual reader) to discuss and comment on, whether on ErieBlogs or their own website. In addition to news and events, ErieBlogs will dedicate single posts to various topics, issues, and items of interest. For example, we regularly feature a post every Tuesday highlighting an online video that features or relates to Erie. We also invite people from the Erie community to contribute short essays which in the past have included the Pennsylvania smoking ban, philanthropy, and tourism in Erie. Professionals, civic leaders, and other individuals and organization are welcome to contact us with an idea for an essay.
