Buffalo air traffic controllers lost contact with a small plane shortly before 10 pm last night. The US Coast Guard searched Lake Erie near Dunkirk for signs of the aircraft. The two passengers boarded the plane in Meadville, PA.

It’s the 2 year anniversary of the Brian Wells pizza bomber death. Wells was a pizza delivery man who robbed a bank and then was killed when a bomb locked to his neck exploded. The FBI has yet to make an arrest in the bizzare case.

James Sunseri recently passed the 9,000 mark in races ridden as a jockey. He rides out of Ellis Park in Henderson, KY and Turfway Park in Florence, KY. Sunseri was born in 1950 in Ascolie Piceno, Italy. He was orphaned. Delores and Joseph Sunseri of Erie, Pa adopted him and brought to the United States in 1963.

Penny Mason takes over as principal at Warwick High School in Lititz, PA. She earned a master’s degree at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.

The North East, PA National Rib Festival wraps up today at Gravel Pit Park. For details call the Fuller Hose Company at 814-725-9211. There is no web site for the event.

The Polish festival Zabawa at Holy Trinity Church, East 23rd and Reed Street in Erie, PA ends today. The festival features polka music, dancing, games, raffles, Polish food courts and a bakery, and a children’s area. Admission to the festival is free. For more information call 814-456-0671 because there is no web site for the event.

The 2005 Pennsylvania Premier Alliance League (PPA) Open Cup is being held at Family First Sports Park in Erie. It ends today. The PPA Open Cup is for soccer players aged U9-U14 for the 2005-2006 playing season. Over 150 soccer teams are expected. Every hotel room within 50 miles of Erie is taken. Expect long lines at upper Peach Street restaurants.

The 2005 Erie County (Pennsylvania) Fair opens today and runs all week through September 3. Admission price is $6 which includes rides. You gotta see the chickens. There must be 100 varities of chickens.

Auditions for “Oscar: A Comedy of Criminal Proportions!” will be held on Monday August 29 at 7 pm in the Watson Curtze Mansion, 356 West 6th Street. They are seeking 13 men and 5 women. Show dates begin October 13 for three weekends.

2005 Erie PA German Heritage Festival
The 2005 Erie PA German Heritage Festival will be held September 3-4 at St Nick’s Grove, 5131 Old French Road (Route 97). Admission is $4 with kids under 12 getting in for free.

The Gannon University Golden Knights football team opened a 28-10 lead at the half, built it to 35-10 early in the third, then had to hang on to defeat Mercyhurst College 35-26 Saturday night in the season-opener for both teams. Kevin Scott had 4 interceptions for Gannon a the Hurst turned the ball over 8 times.

Edinboro defeated West Virgina Tech 47-0.

The Harrisburg Senators beat the Erie SeaWolves 6-1.

The Mercyhurst women’s field hockey team dropped its second straight one goal game to start the season, bowing 2-1 to visiting East Stroudsburg Saturday at Tullio Field.

The Legends division Asphalt Nationals will be held September 29-October 1 at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pa.

Former Gannon University quarterback Ryan Hollern is a grad assistant with the Mississippi State football team.

ill do what you sugessted..dont know what happens, some days THE LISTING IS there and some days it isnt. mabe i did something wrong that knockes it off the lists...3,1/2 months of continuous computor experence....have light years..... to learn :)

i noticed that when i leave my (om mother life force) title on other peoples blogs and my url address, that when i type in the compressed version of the name, ommotherlifeforce, the computor surches, for like information, and lists it , under ther blogs, wich i visited monts ago.2 months
so i figered if i put my own address on my own blog. the computor, would allways list me some how, even if my main address of om mother life force, again disipears.[and now is back]

i allso , contacted yahoo, help, and allso re-submited- my url to the (spider) bot. crall, wich worked--which one worked i dont know?

nice!!! Dennis-- No where did I see on the site and I don't think you mentioned but where is the Erie Fair held at?

Jen - it's on Route 8 about 15 miles outside of Erie. Take Parade Street which turns into Pine Ave which turns into Wattsburg Road which is Route 8. The fairgrounds is a mile after the Route 8 and Route 89 intersection.

Rotthoff Strawberries at 13828 Route 8 in Wattsburg is just across the road from the Erie County Fairgrounds.
