Lindsey Myers and Kevin Jesteadt were identified as the victims as the victims of the Friday plane crash that claimed 3 lives. There has been no recovery yet but debris and an oil slick have been spotted in Lake Erie. Myers was a graduate of Edinboro University and Jesteadt was a senior at the school. The pilot, James Regal of Butler PA, picked up the couple in Meadville so Jesteadt could propose to Myers as they flew over Niagara Falls. They never made it.
Looking for something fun to do Monday evening? Live in the Erie area and wan to be an extra in a movie? There is an independent film “Two”, directed by local filmmaker Jim Lechefsky, that John C Lyons has been running 2nd camera on the past couple months and he needs your help in a scene that calls for lots of extras at a golf course, all ages. Today, Monday at 6 pm at Country Meadows Golf Course. There is no pay but there will be free beer, and you can wear what you want. The scene is a PGA golf tourney. You will be fans. Practice your golf clap. Country Meadows Golf Club is located at 21957 Plank Rd Venango, PA 16440. South of Edinboro, North of Saegertown.
Auditions for “Oscar: A Comedy of Criminal Proportions!” will be held today, August 29 at 7 pm in the Watson Curtze Mansion, 356 West 6th Street. They are seeking 13 men and 5 women. Show dates begin October 13 and run for three weekends.
The 2005 Erie County (Pennsylvania) Fair continues today and runs all week through September 3. Admission price is $6 which includes rides. The fairgrounds are located on Route 8, Wattsburg Road, about 15 miles outside of Erie.
Jr’s on the Bay (no web site) will host this Thursday nights block party in their parking lot off the bayfront with street tents, outdoor cafes, celebrity bartenders and live music. The party runs from 6 pm to 11 pm.

The 2005 Great Lakes Independent Film Festival
will be held September 22 thru September 25 at the Roadhouse Theatre For Contemporary Art, 145 West 11th Street, Erie, PA. The kick off party will be held September 21 2005 at the Docksider Tavern, 1015 State Street, Erie PA. Performing will be ‘Lake Trout’ at 9 pm. Advanced Tickets are available at Docksider Tavern, $8 advanced $10 at the door.
The Gannon Univeristy men’s soccer team used a first-half goal from Gareth Kolkenbeck-Ruh (Johannesburg, South Africa) and a stingy defense to secure a 1-0 regional victory Sunday afternoon at Missouri-Rolla. Alex Scott (Cape Town, South Africa) picked up his first career victory in goal for Gannon.
The Mercyhurst College women’s volleyball team won its third straight match to open the second day at the Shippensburg Tournament, defeating Southern New Hampshire, 3-0. Later in the day, Mercyhurst capped the tournament with a three-game sweep of Daemen.
Concord defeated the Mercyhurst women’s soccer team 2-1. Lisa Casement scored the lone goal for the Lakers. If you see Lisa today, wish her a happy 21st birthday.
Northern Kentucky beat the Mercyhurst men’s soccer team 3-1. Jeff Oblock scored for the Hurst.
