Erie PA News and Events for Monday October 3, 2005
The story about Mercyhurst College President Dr William (Bill) Garvey (allegedly) molesting children will just not go away. The actions of the college are just as disguesting as what Garvey was accused of doing. They tried to cover it up. They tried to hus it up. They backed Garvey up. Their public relation mess seems to get more worse as time goes by. On October 21 of last year, I put together a post of blog post about the story. Over 17,000 people have read it. Just in the past month almost 3,000 have seen it - an average of 93 people a day. Read the comments to see how pissed people are.
Here is what should be done:
1. Merchurst College had got to stop paying Garvey. Work out a cash settlement, but sever any ties.
2. Marlene Mosco and the entire Board of Trustees of Mercyhurst must resign and be replaced.
3. Garvey should resign from any board that he is a member of and consider moving out of the area.

My wife and I went to that Buffalo farm during its festival a couple of years back. It's really a neat experience to see the roaming buffalo and to think that at any minute, if they wanted to, they could charge the fence, bust it down and impale you. I would suggest that families go but bring with them some money since they have a small restaurant there and they serve buffalo meat. If you haven't had buffalo meat before, you're in for a treat. Think of the best hamburger you've ever eaten and then you'll get an idea of how lean and tasty buffalo meat is. Downside is that it's a little expensive.
