Quote, "Sean O'Connor and Ryan O'Marra each scored in a shootout..."
I could have sworn you were going to give a tally on a drinking contest at Sullivans or Brannigans then the Otters were mentioned. Does that make me prejudicial?

Well, against Canadian teenagers, maybe.

Marlene Mosco is a disgrace to the city of Erie, and she shouldn't have even been involved at all in the selection process for the new President. The woman who leads the cover-up gets to be involved in choosing the New President?? Mosco is pure scum, and she couldn't have cared less that Garvey molested those boys. But when the most important thing in your life is having "status" in a small town (as Mosco has done her whole life), your personal ethics go out the window real quick.
It was never any surprise to anyone who has followed the story (and who knows Mercyhurst and Erie), that the Mercyhurst board would chose an 'insider' for their new President. The whole thing was a sham from the beginning.
They place an insider (McQuillen) in as Interim President, then assure us that they are doing a "nationwide search" for the best person, and then they install an even 'bigger' insider and close Garvey associate?
Mercyhurst also completely waisted the time of many very good candidates who they had no intention of hiring.
I just hope that the Times News does a little better job of informing the people of Erie at just how close an associate of William Garvey this Thomas Gamble is.
The article made it seem like Gamble was just another administrator up there with lots of degrees. The facts are, Gamble was part of the board that tried to cover up for Garvey last fall and protect Garvey's "legend" at Mercyhurst. Gamble and Garvey were also the lone Mercyhurst officials on C-Cubed. They've worked very closely together for many years. These things need to be pointed out more by the Times.
Of course, when you have Ed Mead (the Times publisher) saying in his column last week that "we agree" with the decision not to rename Garvey park, it's easy not to get optimistic that the Times will take any further tough stands.
