Erie received it’s first snow of the season. Instead of a litle dusting to allow us to prepare for Winter, we got dumped on. Areas received anywhere from 4-9 inches of snow. Snow on the roads means ice. Pensylvania State Police closed I-79 between Edinboro and McKean for most of the day. There were at least three accidents, one a ten car pile-up, before the highway was shut down. Ohio State Police also shut down I-90 between Cleveland and Erie. For some reason nobody seems to able to drive the first few times it snows. Either people drive 20 miles an hour under or over the speed limit.
Dr Tae Hyung Bu was found not guilty of indecent assault. This was the first of at least two trials the retired obstetrician and gynecologist will face. I'm curious: in weather like yesterday's, do more readers use back roads (maybe to go more slowly and not have some jerk in a giant truck run up your rear end) or main roads, like I-79, b/c they're cleared first? We were out yesterday on roads like 38th, Zuck, 12th, Asbury, Interchange and Peach. Lots of fishtailing by people who didn't want to slow down; we avoided 79.
