NIN in Erie

Posted by Mike on December 3, 2005

nin logoI was looking today for upcoming concerts in the Erie area after seeing great acts in Cleveland and Meadville during October and November (Nine Inch Nails, The Frames and Ben Folds), and I was surprised to see that Nine Inch Nails will be playing in Erie at the Erie Civic Center on March 7th.

In case you didn’t know, Nine Inch Nails has a local connection. Trent Reznor was born and raised in Mercer, PA and attended Allegheny College for a year before moving to Cleveland. Chris Vrenna, who was in early versions of the band until 1996 is from Erie and attended McDowell High School.

There’s no on-sale date yet listed on the NIN tour page, but if it’s anything like their October show in Cleveland, it promises to be quite the spectacle. Nothing against the country acts who have played in Erie lately, it’s just exciting to see some large, national acts coming through town.
