Annoying Ads
Does anyone know a good way to block Flash ads in Firefox or Safari? If that Custom Patio Rooms flash-video ad on the front page of GoErie.com starts playing one more time without me telling it to, I’m going to get very angry.
Come on CyberInk, don’t set that stuff to auto-start. It’s annoying.

I wish. I just avoid goerie and come here ;) Unfortunately other sites have the same, like WTAE's website, which has samples of their broadcast that start up when you load the page. It's a small price to pay for using Firefox though :-/

Definitely annoying. The first time I loaded the site with that ad I closed the browser as soon as I heard the sound. I was at work and who wants some sound playing on their computer disturbing everyone else?
Great to have sponsors, but it's another thing to have their ads make it so no one wants to go to your site.

You can do it pretty easliy with Avant Browser if that helps?

if i weren't so lazy i'd write up a greasemonkey script for firefox to hide the flash movies for that domain only.

or you could use this:
https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=433&application=firefox
problem is is that it uses a whitelist instead of a blacklist...

If Custom Patio Rooms is going to run an ad that annoys EVERYONE it can't be good for their business. Let them know:

I agree that some things about the internet can be annoying, but with technology and everyone fighting to keep up with new advertising avenues, sometimes this can causes negative effects. The same thing could be said about watching any commercial on television. So for all who finds the Custom Patio Rooms ads annoying, please don't let that reflect on the Company's reputation for a excellent product.
