The English language is in high demand in Viet Nam. One of the courses required of English majors is American Culture. To practice and learn about our culture, one class is planning a mock American wedding. Erie PA was chosen as the place where the couple first met. The writing assignment in blog form even includes a pic of the ‘bride-to-be’ at a beach at Presque Isle State Park. Nice to see that college students in Viet Nam have a better command of the English language and better writing skills than most American high school students.

According to a 2002 US Census Bureau report, in that year there were an estimated 4036 firms in the Erie MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area). Erie County is the Erie MSA.

AYUSA is looking for caring families who wish to open their home and share in a meaningful exchange with a young person from another country. AYUSA welcomes boys and girls between the ages of 15 and 18, for 5 and 10-month academic programs. Students hail from over 60 countries throughout Europe, Asia, Central, South America and Southern Africa and many are recipients of prestigious scholarships. All prospective students must first participate in a rigorous screening process, in which they are evaluated for their social and intellectual maturity, strength of goals, and leadership qualities. Every student must be able to speak, read, and write in English. They are expected to fully participate in an American high school.
