Speaking of smells, does anyone else smell that nasty battery-acid-like smell near the bayfront? I smelled it this morning, and I swear at least once a week, if not more, I can smell that in the morning. I feel like I don't want to take a full breath because I have no clue what the hell is in the air. Even at my place on West 9th I can still smell it.
I wish the news would do some investigating on that.

Ray Schreckengost, the head of the Port Authority, is an absolute dunderhead. He should have been ousted a long time ago, just like Jake Rouch of the Regional Chamber. Both of these guys have done horrible jobs, but they seem to be untouchable in terms of being held to any standard of accountability for their dismal performances.

Of course, another reason why we never really see anything in the Times News that is negative about the Port Authority or Ray Schrekengost is because of a certain newspaper publisher who is on the Board of the Port Authority.
Ed Mead of the Times News is the Vice-Chairman of the Port Authority board of officers.
