Thomas J Gamble, PhD, president-elect of Mercyhurst College, released changes within his new administration that will take effect March 1 when he assumes the presidency. Nothing big expect someone of the pay raises. They are still seem to be puppets of Garvey and Mosco.
A restructure of the Office of the President has resulted in three new positions including the vice president of strategic planning, the vice president of enrollment and the position of senior counselor to the president. James Adovasio, PhD, will assume the role of senior counselor to the president. In this position, he will oversee the administration at Mercyhurst’s branch campuses. Barbara Behan, PhD, has accepted the established role of vice president of academic affairs. Currently, Behan serves as the associate vice president in academic affairs and as the dean of the School of Social Sciences. Heidi K Hosey, PhD, has been named to the position of vice president of strategic planning. Hosey joined Mercyhurst in 1985 as director of basic writing, becoming assistant professor of English in 1992 and associate professor in 1995. She was granted tenure in 2001 and promoted to full professor. Michael Lyden, PhD, has accepted the position of vice president of enrollment. Lyden, who continues to serve as the director of the Office of Adult and Graduate Programs at Mercyhurst, holds a doctorate in education policy studies from Harvard University as well as undergraduate and master’s degrees from Gannon University in general science and social studies, respectively. Tom Billingsley, executive vice president for administration; Gary Bukowski, vice president of institutional advancement; Gary Brown, executive vice president of the North East campus; and Jane Kelsey, vice president of finance and treasurer, will retain their current positions. Mary Daly will continue in her role as liaison to the board of trustees.

Allegheny College graduate Timothy Hoffman, class of 1988, was part of a team of doctors who performed a “domino” heart transplant on two infants at Columbus Children’s Hospital. On Jan 14, four-month-old Jason Wolfe received a combined heart, double lung transplantation. Because Wolfe’s heart was still healthy – it was a safer surgical procedure to do a heart-lung transplant than to transplant only the lungs – surgeons were able to use his original heart, the “domino” heart, to give a new chance at life to 12-week-old Kayla Richardson. The combined procedures took 12 hours to complete. Hoffman graduated from Allegheny College in 1988 with a bachelor of science degree. Hoffman went on to West Virginia University, where he received a doctor of medicine in 1992.

Very little has changed at Mercyhurst College. The same corrupt group that tried to protect Garvey are still at the top up at the Hurst.

Not only was President Thomas Gamble close to Garvey (and probably picked with Garvey's influence), but Gary Bukowski, and Mary Daly, two of Garvey's closest associates, will retain their positions.

This is the same Mary Daly who staged a
middle-of-the-night raid on campus newspaper boxes in October 2004, on the Saturday night/Sunday morning when the Garvey story first broke in the Erie Times News.

These newspaper boxes were located near the student housing and dorm areas. In many other campuses, such a blatant and underhanded act of censorship would have resulted in massive calls for Daly's resignation or firing. Instead, she remains in Mercyhurst, occupying an exulted position of respect and earning a very good living.
