Tom O’Malley Jr, manager of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ basketball team, announced that the team will make an appearance in Erie sometime before May.
Shebang Skate Park, 241 West 12th Street in Erie, will be closing April 22.

The Highmark Quad Games Cross County Ski and Snowshoe Race is now scheduled for Sunday Feb 26 at 1 pm at Peek’n Peak. The event was originally scheduled for Jan 8, then pushed back to Jan 15, then Jan 22, then Jan 29, and then Feb 5, etc.
Erie Youth Hockey Association Joe McCallion House Select Tourney will take place in Erie PA February 24- 26, 2006.
The theater group All An Act Productions is performing the comedy “The Middle Ages” by AR Gurney. The show will run Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 3 pm through March 5th at East High School, located at 1001 Atkins Street, Erie, Pa 16503. General Admission is $5.
The Northwest PA Maple Association Tast and Tour Weekend will be held Saturday March 18 and Sunday March 19 from 104 each day. There are a number of sugarhouses participating in Crawford, Erie, Venango, and Mercer counties.
Dan Chivari of Erie PA was a member of the pit drew for Reed Sorenson who drove the number 41 Target/Fugi Films Dodge in the Daytona 500. Chivari has been with Sorenson for a few years serving as a Front Tire Changer and the Rear Mechanic.
Michael Ouzas turned aside all 37 shots he faced for his fourth shutout of the season as the Owen Sound Attack skated to a 6-0 win over the Erie Otters in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 4,164 at the Tullio Arena. The next Otters home game is Saturday (February 25th) when the Ottawa 67’s visit the Tullio Arena for a 7:30 p.m. start. It’s a Splash Lagoon Giveaway Game with tickets available at all Erie-area TicketMaster locations as well as the Erie Civic Center Box Office.
Gannon officials have announced plans for a ticket presale for the Gannon-Mercyhurst basketball doubleheader scheduled for Thursday, February 23 at Gannon’s Hammermill Center. The women’s game kicks off the doubleheader at 6 pm and the men’s contest follows at 8 pm. Tickets will go on sale Monday, February 20 at Gannon’s Carneval Athletic Pavilion located on 3rd and Peach Streets. Tickets will be available between 8:30 am and 4 pm. through Thursday or until tickets are sold out. Tickets are scaled at $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens.
