Erie PA News and Events for Saturday March 18, 2006

Posted by Dennis on March 18, 2006

I’m not sure if the taxpayers of Pennsylvania have to be blindfolded or must gouge out their eyes but were not allowed to look while the state goes into our pockets to settle a lawsuit. Yesterday, I mentioned that Representative Linda Bebko-Jones has settled with TE Kalkhof Realty on her breaking the lease for her office in Erie after she ‘allegedly’ caused a fire. After the damage was repaired she didn’t like the air quality. She packed up and moved to another office, breaking the lease. Her attorneys, attorneys for the state and TE Kalkhof Realty wouldn’t release terms of the settlement. So the taxpayers of Pennsylvania must pay some random amount to TE Kalkhof Realty. We just aren’t allowed to know the amount because the terms are confidential. Just hand over your wallet. WTF. That’s pretty screwed up.

A head on collision last night killed four people on Route 97 and gravely injured 2 kids. The accident on Perry Highway was just south of where Presque Isle Downs is being constructed.
