Erie City Council and Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott announced they have reached an agreement to cut spending and reduce taxes.
Yes, you guessed it. April Fools!
Congrats go out to Erie Blogger Bobbo for breaking the story about the theft of the student newspaper, The Gannon Knight.
Last weekend Miles D Rish of North East, PA, a freshman at Gannon University, was arrested for raping a Gannon co-ed. Rish was a member of the Gannon men’s water polo and men’s swim team.
The Gannon Knight ran a story about the incident on its front page but few members of the Gannon community saw it. The newspapers were stolen just as they were placed around campus. The students accused of taking the newspapers were told to return them. Many were returned with about half missing the front page with the rape story.
All members of the Gannon men’s and women’s swimming and water polo teams should be suspended immediately pending an investigation.

Maybe these students who stole the newspapers got the idea from Mary Daly at Mercyhurst College.
When the Garvey story broke in Oct 2004, it was Mary Daly, a high college administrator, who raided newspaper boxes around campus so that the Sunday Times with the Garvey story could not be read by students.
