Erie PA News and Events for Sunday April 2, 2006
There was an interesting story in the New York Times on Saturday about homeless people living in their cars. One of the people mentioned in the story lived in his car for 5 months in Erie. Larry Chaney lost his trucking business and was evicted from his apartment. He “moved” to Erie to be near his son who was attending Gannon University. He didn’t mention his situation to his son because he didn’t want to become a distraction. He had a gym membership so he had a place to cleam up but he spent most of his time in neighborhood restaurants and looking for a job. I can’t help but wonder if this had anything to do with Shelby Chaney transferring from Gannon to Mercyhurst.
