Spectrum Control (NASDAQ: SPEC) skyrocketed 2.19 to $9.53. The 29.84 percent increase came the day after their quarterly earnings were released. Net income for the three months ended May 21 was $1.7 million, or 13 cents per share, compared with $1.3 million, or 10 cents, during the same period last year. The company recorded sales of $31.9 million in the quarter, compared with $25.9 million in the second quarter of 2005.
Edinboro Mayor Clifford “Kip” Allen and Meadville Mayor Richard A Friedberg were elected as directors of the Pennsylvania League of Cities and Municipalities for 2006-7.

For the second straight season Erie Otters forward Ryan O’Marra has been included among the 44 players invited to attend Canada’s National Junior Team Development Camp from July 23-28, 2006 in Calgary, Alberta.
The Grand Opening celebration will be held this Sunday at Bobby Rohrer’s Eriez Speedway. Along with the many improvements to the racing facilities fans will be able to enjoy a Super Late Model King of the Hill event, the weekly King of the Hill for Super Late Models current title holder Dave Hess Jr., from Waterford will run against Titusville’s Robbie Blair, giveaways provided by Five Star International and Peterbuilt Trucks. Pepsi will be present along with a cake from Sam’s Club, Coors Beer will have a fan Tire Changing competition, two NASCAR semi-trucks will be on display and to cap off the racing evening Fireworks by Zambelli.
The 2006 Erie Summer Festival of the Arts takes place today through Sunday at Liberty Park. This year’s fest features demonstrating artists, crafters, a song contest, award winning children’s area, ethnic foods, student video and digital media competition, juried panorama art show, computer intruction programs for children and adults as well as strolling musicians.

Performing in Erie on June 25th, 2006, Tanglefoot, Lake Erie’s most exciting maritime musical group, will perform In conjunction with the Midnight Herring exhibit opening and book release, Tanglefoot returns to Erie after ten-year absence to celebrate the Erie County History Center annual History Makers event. Learn about the Carrie T Watson Garden Club Labyrinth at the Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier (LEAF). If you haven’t experienced the labyrinth yet, this week will offer some great opportunities to walk the path.

Labyrinth Evening Walk : June 30, 9 pm, The Labyrinth at LEAF will be illuminated by candles and the moon. Bring a friend and share a meaningful experience as you walk the curving path together.

The Peek n’ Peak Classic takes place June 26 – July 2. The Golf Channel will provide live coverage of the Nationwide Tour event.

The 2006 Erie Airshow will be on Saturday and Sunday, July 15-16, 2006. The Air Show will be held at Erie International Airport, Tom Ridge Field. The schedule of performances and static display aircraft present will be the same each day, so you can attend either day and see the same great show. Gates will open each day at 10 am with the flying portion of the airshow will begin at noon each day.
