The 2006-07 schedule for Gannon University’s Schuster Theatre has been announced. The list of performances is as follows: “Dining Room” by A R Gurney, Directed by Paula Barrett, Sept 28-30, Oct. 1, 5-7, 2006; “James Joyce’s The Dead” , Directed by Fr Shawn Clerkin, Nov 30, Dec 1-3, 7-9, 2006; “Tartuffe”, by Moliere, Directed by Paula Barrett, Feb 8-10, 15-17, 2007; “Plaza Suite” by Neil Simon, Directed by David Matthews, March 17-18, 2007; “Ddead Man Walking” by Tim Robbins, Directed by Ed Helenski

The Erie SeaWolves lost at Bowie 7-4. The Detroit Tigers got caught in a bind and called up Brent Clevlen from the Erie SeaWolves. Clevlen was batting .224 for Erie. Clevlen in center field for the Tigers Sunday against Twins star pitcher Johan Santana. Clevlen becomes the 10th former Erie SeaWolves player on the Tigers roster.
Chris Moore of Allegheny College and Chris Killmer of Cal State-Bakersfield won 3 and 1 against Fu Zhongyang and Yang Wenzhang at the USA China Friendship Cup, a three-day, Ryder Cup-style golf event.
The biggest Super Late Model race planned by Bobby Rohrer, the new owner of Eriez Speedway, will be held today. The $3,000 to win race will be sponsored by Miller Lite and will feature an open tire rule with a $200 bonus if the winner is running the Eriez track tire. Gates will open at 4:30 pm with racing starting promptly at 6 pm.
Terry Labonte, Jeff Green and David Stremme are taking part in a race at Lake Erie Speedway today. No other info about the race is on their website. This track does a horrible job with PR and they wonder why they lose money every year. It would have taken someone about 15 minutes to do a little write up and post it.

The 7th annual Holy Rosary Parish Summer Festival will be held today, rain or shine. Everything will be under tents! Casino/Adult Games will be in the Conway Room. Outside you will find plenty of food, games and fun. There will be live musical entertainment outdoors Sunday afternoon. There will also be a Stuffed Chicken Breast Dinner (sit-down and served) from 12 pm to 5 pm on Sunday, July 30th. Holy Rosary is located at 28th and East Ave.
The Native American Festival takes place at the Wooden Nickel Buffalo Farm in Edinboro runs from 11-6 today. Admission is $3 per person, 3 and under are FREE. Parking is by donation to the Edinboro Lions Club. Opening ceremonies at 12 Noon. Intertribal dancing all day with special dancers performing at 1pm, 2pm, and 5pm.
Dan Rice Days takes place Aug 4 - 5 in Girard PA. After decades of sponsoring fireworks in Erie and in North East, Mercyhurst College will light up the night sky for the second year in a row in western Erie County as it partners with the annual Dan Rice Days celebration. On Saturday, Aug 5, at 10 pm, Zambelli Internationale will launch fireworks from the former Divine Word Seminary property off Route 20 in Girard, which Mercyhurst purchased last year for the launch of its third campus, Mercyhurst West. This year’s fireworks are planned to celebrate the inauguration of Dr Thomas J Gamble as Mercyhurst’s 11th president and to mark the opening of classes at Mercyhurst West on August 30. Classes will be held at a temporary site, the former Faith Lutheran Church at 824 Main Street East in Girard, as the college prepares to develop its new campus on Route 20.
The 14th annual Erie Art Museum Blues and Jazz Festival takes place at Frontier Park Saturday and Sunday, August 5 and 6, with an exceptional lineup of national and regional acts. The Festival is free, and takes place rain or shine.
The St Paul’s Annual Italian Festival takes place August 11-13 at the parish located at 1617 Walnut St in Erie.
Scooters is hosting the 1st annual Motorcycles 4 Meals poker run to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of NW PA on August 12, 2006. Registration starts at 9 am at the Food Bank, 1703 Ash Street with the first bike leaving at Noon. There will be FREE food, FREE music, Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle at Scooters (last stop). Only one of them (Mike Love) is one of the original Beach Boys. Bruce Johnston, although not one of the originals, has played with the band since the 1960s.
John Cowsill? Is he any relation to the 1960s band "The Cowsills"?
