Jury selection begins Monday in Meadville in the case of the parents of Charles Mahoney against Allegheny College. Mahoney committed suicide in his fraternity house in 2002 after 2 1/2 at the school. Mahoney had been hospitalized once and was under the care of doctors. The case boils down to a privacy issue. Should the school have broken the law known as the 1974 Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, which prohibits colleges from releasing information about their students without student permission, and let the parents know what has happening. Every college in the country will be following the case.

The two women were arrested in when they tried to cash checks written to “Cash,” which is how they told many of the customers to write the checks.

For all McDowell alumni, there's a better alumni site here:

http://millcreekschools.org/alumni/. It's got directories of people going back decades. The one linked today has no info of substance.
