Erie PA News and Events for Sunday September 3, 2006

Posted by Dennis on September 3, 2006

Rae Sherred of Edinboro University was honored with the 2006 NCAA Sportsmanship Award. Sports isn’t just about winning and losing, it’s about building character. Sometimes the worst conditions bring out the best in people. In the PSAC women’s basketball title game against California of Pennsylvania with the score tied and with 7 seconds to play, Cal was attempting to inbound the ball. Sherred knocked the ball away, dove after it and got it, and called time out. Edinboro had no time-outs and was called for a technical foul. Cal knocked down the free throws and then ran out the clock. Sherred was devistated. Boro Coach Stan Swank said the press wanted to talk to her. She sucked it up, talked out what happened and answered questions. Rae Sherred has class.

The other day I mentioned that Meadow Brook Dairy announced a new logo for their milk products. Derek Archambault, the Marketing Manager for Dean Foods Northeast in Franklin, MA was kind enough to see me an image of the logo. Looks pretty good. Now I have to go out and get some Mighty Fine Donuts to go with the milk.
