Ralph Bucky Phillips captured
After being on the run for more than five months from when he escaped from a Buffalo area jail, career criminal Ralph “Bucky” Phillips was captured near Akeley PA in Warren County, just south of the New York-Pennsylvania border. Phillips is the main suspect in the shooting of three police officers. On June 10, NY State Trooper Sean Brown was shot after he pulled Phillips over during a traffic stop. He has since recovered and has returned to duty. On August 31,Troopers Joseph Longobardo and Donald Baker Jr were shot. Longobardo died on September 3. Baker remains hospitalized in critical condition at Hamot Medical Center in Erie. Funeral home calling hours for Longobardo are scheduled to start today. So far seven people have been charged with aiding Phillips while he was on the lam. Everyone in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties NY should be embarrassed that Phillips so much help in hiding. Turn in the people that helped him. They are criminals. I’d hope that everyone charged is also charged with accessory to the murder of Trooper Longobardo. Perhaps this episode will teach the area police agencies that if they work together, things go better and faster. Don’t have a pissing contest about jurisdiction or refusing help from another department.

If anyone knows why McDowell Intermediate High School Principal Tom Maciulewicz resigned Friday, let me know.
