Erie PA News and Events for Sunday September 10, 2006
Jack Young of Warren PA might soon be getting a check for over $400,000 - the reward money for the capture of Ralph “Bucky” Phillips. He’s the story Dan Wells of WJET-TV reported yesterday. Young and his wife were of the balcony of the apartment around midnight Thursday night/ Friday morning when they noticed someone acting suspecious standing in th shadows between a dumpster and another building. He called the police. The man fled. A car was stolden less than a block away from the apartment. I’m guessing Phillips must have serach a number of cars for one that was unlocked. Warren police spotted the car and gave chase. The car crashed and Phillips headed north into the woods. A short time later Phillips stole another car. A state trooper spotted Phillips in that car and gave chase. Phillips also crashed that one and again went into the woods. He was then cornered by 200 police officers (and an almost equal number of reporters) and surrendered around 8 pm Friday evening.
