The Erie Freeze and 13 other teams are leaving the AIFL and joining the AIFA - the newly created American Indoor Football Association. This seems like just a name change for the league and the booting out of league founder Andrew Haines. According to a press release issued by the new league, AIFL teams in line to join the AIFA are Erie, Johnstown, Canton (Ohio), Danville (Ill), Huntington (WVa), Pittsburgh, Reading, Carolina (Concord, NC), Florence (SC), Lakeland (Fla), Mississippi (Tupelo, Miss), Montgomery (Ala), Springfield (Ill) and Tallahassee (Fla). The league plans to announce its 2007 schedule within a week. The AIFA is set to kick off in February. Back in July, 7 other teams left the AIFL. Four teams (Augusta, Daytona Beach, Raleigh, and Rome) left to form the new World Indoor Football League with the Fayetteville Guard and the Osceola Outlaws of the NIFL. Miami Valley and Steubenville left to join the GLIFL.

Priority will be given to Centers for Teaching Excellence candidates who are employed in struggling schools and to those seeking certification in early childhood education, secondary math and/or science.

Perhaps your kids are attending a new school this Fall or they’ll be going to a new school in the middle of the school year. She and her husband Tim Welsh coached their 10 year old daughter when they moved. They gave her tips on starting conversations and being positive, such as smiling more. Their child Alice made new friends quickly.

I'm not sure whether the folks at the Environmental Center had planned to show 'regular' movies all along but this is something I suggested back in May (showing of regular Hollywood films. See the penultimate paragraph at http://www.erieblogs.com/archives/2006/05/tom_ridge_envir.php .) Good for them in exploiting their resources.
