I attempted to email the above story to Kim Green, the Economic and Community Development officer for the City of Erie. The email bounced. I then tried to email the webmaster for the city web site. The email bounced. The city has no email service. Great.
Skot posted that he will be sentenced by US District Judge Sean J McLaughlin on Tuesday, December 19. He faces up to five years in prison, a fine of $250,000, and three years of supervised release. He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit copyright infringement and one count of criminal copyright infringement in violation of the Family Entertainment Copyright Act in September. His guilty plea stems from his involvement in the BitTorrent peer-to-peer (P2P) network previously known as Elite Torrents.

The Northwestern Pennsylvania Regional Wide Area Network consortium has named Sting Communications as the vendor for their ongoing broadband project. The project includes 85 school districts, career and technical schools and Intermediate Units across 12 counties. The goal is to begin services during the 2007 - 2008 school year to participating districts in Erie, Crawford, Warren, Mercer, Lawrence, Butler, Clarion, Venango, Forest, Jefferson, Armstrong and Indiana counties. Sting will be partnering with the following vendors to provide services to the Northwest Pennsylvania Regional WAN: Velocity.Net/Softek, Coaxial Cable, USA Choice, Time Warner, Embarq, Atlantic Broadband and TelCove. This regional project, estimated at more than $15 million over five years, is currently part of an application to the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) for an E-Fund grant, part of Act 183 of 2004. Act 183 was created to ensure broadband accessibility and effective use of that technology in K-12 education in Pennsylvania.
The 2007 Eerie Horror Film Festival and Screenplay Competition has officially opened its call for entries and is currently seeking submissions from all over the world. Submission categories for the 2007 Eerie Horror Film Festival and Screenplay Competition includes: Horror Feature, Horror Short, Science Fiction Feature, Science Fiction Short, Suspense Feature, Suspense Short, Student (10 - 17 yrs of age) Horror Feature, Student (10 - 17 yrs of age) Horror Short, Feature Length Screenplay, Short Length Screenplay, Student (10 - 17 yrs of age) Feature Length Screenplay and Student (10 - 17 yrs of age) Short Length Screenplay. The Eerie Horror Film Festival will take place in October 10 - 14, of 2007 at the Erie Playhouse in Erie, PA.

The Erie SeaWolves announced that Curtis Granderson, former ‘Wolves and current Detroit Tigers centerfielder, will be the keynote speaker at the 2007 Hot Stove Dinner. The event will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at the hotel at 10th and Peach. Doors open at 6 pm with a cocktail hour and dinner will begin at 7 pm. Individual tickets are available for $35 or a table of eight for $240 ($5 discount per ticket).

Mike Schupp of Erie Cathedral Prep is one of the nominees for the Class AAAA All-State football team. He had 41 catches for 614 yards and 6 TDs. He was also the team’s top punt returner, and as defensive back has 60 tackles.
The “Victorian Holidays: A Holiday Heritage Festival” exhibit at the Erie County Historical Society Watson-Curtze Mansion, 356 W 6 St, runs through December 31.

The Presque Isle Chorus, a member of Sweet Adelines International, will be holding their Christmas Concert on December 18 at 7:30 pm at the Trinity Luthern Church, 14 East 38 St. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

I don't think the city uses the Intarwebs. I think to communicate with the city, you need to use semaphore, smoke signals or an Aldis lamp.
